Add Fun With Starters While Dining Out...

Planning to dine out tonight? Place your orders for Starters as your main course...
'Menu Please', and the heavy (for no reason), out of the world food guide will be brought to your table, and by the time you ponder over it, the server will be right there on your head asking 'what appetizer would you like to go for'. I simply don't understand this too courteous phenomenon of placing order- first the appetizer, followed by starter, then the main course and of course Desert not to be skipped!

Time to make your dining out experience more fun with family, and a great time relishing the lip smacking food by making it go lighter on your body. When we say lighter, the only thing that comes to mind is 'Starters' which can be a wonderful fulfilling experience! " Starter in English means, 'Start Right'. So overall it should be any food that is served in small portions, and there is no limit if you decide it that ways. It is sure a fabulous experience to sample, eat and try different dishes," says Francis Luzinier, Executive Chef, Food&Beverage Division, The Lalit, New Delhi.

If you decide to go only for starters, then you must try to balance your meal. Start with cold food first ( cold petite bouchees of cold canapes, pates, terrines, cold cuts, smoked salmon, and a few prawns), then slowly move to hot food ( small shot of soups, a spring roll, a satay stick, small pizzetta, a dim sum, a tandoor item) but only in small piece.
A Wholesome Meal
If you still feel that you are craving for more starters, then try the combo meals for wholesome experience. " Starter, soup and salad is a very popular combination as it gives you flexibility to try more dishes, and also goes lighter on your body, " suggests Rajesh Kaushal, MD, Arthur's Theme, Mumbai.
For your Sweet Tooth
Still Hungry? Go for a small portion of Dessert.. Now that's a Perfect Dining out Experience...:)
