We started your morning on a beautiful note of a home spa experience. But, if you feel that you have time (at least a couple of hours) to spare for a spa that can guarantee a wonder healing to your stressed self, you should check out AVN Arogya! A well-known holistic Spa from South India...
It was earlier know as Arya Vaidya Nilayam when it started 80 years ago in Madurai, in South India by Dr. N Rama Varier. You might be wondering why are we giving you all these details, rather than talking about what they offer, straight away. Well, for a simple reason, you will get to feel their expertise!
Today, this holistic spa has expanded, and has many branches like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, just to name a few.
|Dr. Sridevi Rajeev|
This spa has spanned across three generations, and when we spoke to Dr. Sridevi Rajeev, Director and Chief Physician, we realized that.We asked her about various treatments that are good for working women, women who are multi-taskers, women who are all the time busy looking after families, spend most of the time in kitchen, etc., and she shared a very interesting range of therapies from their wide list of treatments.
" At AVN, pampering spa treatments are just one of the branches, which is what women are looking fro in the present time. But I must say that it's just like a refreshment when you are hungry, not a cure. And, a spa visit must also lead to a cure for which you have spent good 2 hours from your busy schedule. Here, we have certified ayurvedic and allopathic practitioners. and they actually study your body type (vata, pitta, cafa), find out the doshas, and then chart out the treatment," said Dr. Rajeev.
She further added that our lifestyle is such that we are bound to get problems. We live in metros, we spend so much time at workplaces, then in traffic, we eat out so often, and we are all the time before our computer screens. This takes a toll on health. An ayurvedic spa therapy is more about healing, and less about pampering."
Later, she told us quite a few quick fixes that you can actually try when in office. Like rolling a cricket ball under your feet for a quick relaxation, also kicking the same ball under your desk for a few times for some reflex action. Interesting, isn't it? Try doing some foot, shoulder, and neck movements for at least 10 minutes during your 9 to 5 working hours, and feel the difference! So, this International women's day, go for some holistic treatment and feel recharged to face those Monday blues!
The spa is set amid the lush green environs, making it an ideal spot for complete rejuvenation. The aesthetically designed facility has contemporary rooms and the spacious traditional villas with ample ventilation and natural light enhancing the treatment processes.
