We are closing to that special month in India which is celebrated in many ways. August is not just about celebrations and the beginning of festive season, it is also a month that showers us with holidays and extended weekends. And, that's exactly when we decide to take a break from mundane, and hit a destination that helps us unwind...
Poolside at Pushkar Resort...
So, if you have already started your weekend getaway plans, this feature will sure interest you. We recently visited and reviewed Pushkar Resorts in Rajasthan, by Sewara Hospitality & Development, and came back revived like never before!!
Rajasthan is globally known for it's hospitality and warmth, and Pushkar, which is known for it's religious history is no exception. We were exploring a rustic destination that is good & safe enough for women to travel alone, or with friends. And, Pushkar Resorts certainly is an ideal choice for the same. The resort is bang in between the beautiful Aravali mountains of Rajasthan, spread in 15 acres of area. It has an interesting story of how the concept of creating this resort came up. When Hollywood actor Kate Winslet came to Pushkar for the shoot of Holy Smoke (in 1999), there was no resort in this city, and overnight a cottage was built for her comfortable stay. Later, the owners expanded it into beautiful clusters of luxury cottage, and Pushkar Resorts was born...

When in Pushkar, Don't Miss This Ride!
This was a total fun as we passed through the village, crossed the rustic beauty nestling in the Aravalis, and reached our religious destination for which people from different continents visit this holy destination!
Though, the fun element was there in the village, where children followed our cart till a distance only out of sheer amusement!
Look at the picture below, what say?
Finally, we were in the city to visit the world's one and only Brahma Temple. The Hindus call it as one of the biggest religious places of India. We visited the temple, experienced the puja and quicky set out for the local market. It was flooded with the local craftsmanship, be it the traditional mojadi (footwear), or the street fashion...
The evening was gradually setting in, the monsoon magic had already begun and we left for our beautiful resort enjoying the shower and the misty wind!
Open-air Bar Setting...
The resort was waiting for us as the evening surprisewhich the resort had planned was ready to make our short stay even more beautiful. It was the folk dance (Kalbelia) and song performance by the local villagers in the open air bar area of the garden.
The setting was an absolute stunner, with the wind chimes hanging on the tree added a romantic musical note to the whole experience. Post the dinner, we headed straight to our cozy cottage as it turned out to be a long day actually...
The Sweet Little Spa in the Resort
The next day morning was all about spa experiential. It's good to see that even in a place like Pushkar, the resort is offering quick yet relaxing treatments like aromatherapy, jacuzzi bath etc. We opted for exfoliation along with rejuvenating oil massage. The masseuse was good and focused on the trouble areas by putting balanced pressure. The exfoliation, especially on the back was visibly soothing. The spa ended with steam and shower. And, that's exactly when we realized that it's time to say goodbye to the resort...
Pushkar is an ideal destination if you believe in rustic beauty, nature and of course the nothingness during vacations. Rest, leave it on the resort as they sure know how to pamper you in the best possible way!
