Food That Takes you on a Cultural Trip!

For women weekends are all about good food, fine dining and some quality time spent with their loved ones. And looks like the IT hub of our NCR region, Gurgaon is wooing them with the best possible options. Raasta, an interesting Carribean lounge restaurant is a newest add on in the happening DLF Cybercity. We reviewed this lovely lounge recently and returned satiated like never before...

Cool Bongzilla That We Simply Loved...

Where Food Reflects a Culture

Raasta, the name may not connect you instantly with something that had a connotation with a musical past, but the moment you step in this cozy lounge and see Bob Marley's pictures, Reggae-inspired musical ambience, the Rastafarin memories come alive. Don't feel naive if you are totally clueless about it, as we too had to dig in the past of the western musical world where legendary musician Bob Marley is creditied for introducing Rastafarian culture.

The lounge is a decent depiction of the same, where you basically enjoy the carribean cuisine over a Marley fave musical surrounding. And we despite knowing a little about this whole new concept had a gala time during the review.

The Food

Food at Raasta is sheer fun. As carribean flavours are close to the Indian flavours, and many spices make the basic ingredients common, the lounge makes a perfect choice for many Indian families who usually are reluctant trying international cuisines. From fresh middle eastern salads, falafel, panko prawns, mushroom platters, to Bob's obsession and some interesting fish based main courses, the flavours only remind you of your very own Indian dishes. But that doesn't mean what you are eating here is what you eat at home. The chef makes sure that each platter coming to your table as some cultural connect, be it in form of ingredients, or the cooking technique.

That's still not all. There are other food options too, if carribean is not your cup of tea. We sure would not like to make more mentions here, as you need to book your table to explore the menu more!!

What Not to Miss

Look at the first picture, the Bongzilla that the bartender serves is a total bliss. You can try any cocktail in this, but the way it is served is sure going to grab all the attention on your table. Makes a great choice for a couple who want to enjoy the dring together.

Raatsta makes a good choice for women who want to spend a good time either with family or friends. The fusion of food and music sure has a feminine appeal, and when the carribean flavours blend with the musical culture along with some lovely shots of great drinks, you just don't want the weekend to end...
