If you are exploring the winter food festivals in the capital city, then allow us to introduce to you the one of it’s kinds Festival- Dine Like a Maharaja, focussed on Hyderabadi Cuisine.
Dine Like a Royal
The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel Is running a fortnight -long festival of Hyderabadi Cuisine, which as per the hotel is the second leg in it’s series of the Royal dinners. We go a chance to experience this, and we decided to preview it with our little reviewer this time.
With an outdoorsy setting that gives the royal feel, with props and add-ons in terms of cutleries, table setting and so, the Maharaja style dinner becomes impressive only when you get the glimpse of the menu, the lavish choices of the food, and some lip-smacking courses be it starters or the mains. The setup is just ok, and you feel that the indoors in this weather could have done wonders with more personalized touch and experience. But the food is the winner here. We simply loved the Hyderabadi Subz Seekh, Paneer 65 (wonder why 65, though?) in starters and Nafeez Palak, Kaddu ka Dalcha, Besan ke Nimboo. Some of them were straight winners and you tend to enjoy your Maharaja dinner all the more with the authentic flavours.
We sure didn’t try the non-vegetarian menu which we feel must have been way better and authentic as that’s what this cuisine is all about. The dinner is complimented with the live gazal performance which was somehow just ok, probably we experienced it right on day 2. You might like to give it a chance though as the Chef is passionate about this concept and is personally involved at each step of the recipes and servings.
Be the Maharaja for a day even if it’s just the food!
