The concept of getting brands, newbies to old-players, under one rood via exhibitions and soiree has been going round in the metro cities of India for quite some time. And, why not? After all, these are the places where women often like to splurge, bargain, network and eventually end up making and friends with like-minded people.
Once such happened recently in the national capital called ‘ My Best Friend & Me’. Basd on the concept of affordable luxury, the event witnessed the best of the capital crowd in it’s successful 8th season. We spoke to Dipali Sarin Bhasin, Founder & CEO, My Best Friend & Me to know more about the participants and the buyers. “The event is kind of know-how of affordable luxury, the new and upcoming designer labels, to the women shoppers (primarily) who like to go to exhibitions that are one stop solution to their lifestyle needs. This season had food, fashion, accessories, beauty, and much more,” said Sarin.
Indeed, it had everything. There were beauty brands like Mantra from one of the oldest wellness groups of India, to new brands like Zankyou, Buna, Vastra Arpanam (The Founder’s own label), Queens Jewels, and many more. We got to interact with a Kerala based designer brand too who participated with MBFM for the first time.
It was a good experience to meet and greet not just the participants but the shoppers too. We could see women leaving with loads of bags in their hands, some even changing in the new look before leaving the hotel (The event happened at The Lalit, New Delhi)
